Our city is an endless source of beautiful places, and this pre-wedding around Valencias old river is just another proof. It’s true that some places go unnoticed when you live so close to them. Part of our job is to be able to find this surroundings that go along with our couples, which at the same time goes along with the way we understand photography. In the end the way we photograph has a lot to do with our personality and the way we understand life itself, so we believe that couples that trust us to do their wedding pictures understand life in the same way.
It is also true that leave behind our day-to-day basis and that familiar environment helps us find new images, but also appreciate in a different way what we have. A movie quote that we can’t recall its name says: “You must immerse yourself in an unfamiliar world in order to truly understand your own”. In any case, even though the pleasure it gives us to travel around the world and be able to photograph such different places, with different couples, as much as get immersed in its culture, traditions, gastronomy and so on, Valencia still has a privileged place.
This time our stars are Irene and Massi. She is from Valencia and he is Italian, so the Mediterranean sea surrounds us both. As you could imagine Italy has a special charm, which is related to Valencia: the way light shapes both Spain and Italy, the way we both act, the joy and willing to live/enjoy life itself… However Massi lives in Italy’s north, and during the photo session he told us that his region is not well known for seeing people dancing at weddings, which Irene hurried to respond -while laughing- saying that in their wedding they will dance, and she even told us about her grandmother, who was born and raised in Andalusia, will be dancing and singing.
In this shooting there was dancing, but without music. Even though is not the same, considering our Mediterranean sunsets, it still counts for something.
With music, dressed as bride and groom, November will be the month were we all dance and sing: in Valencian, Spanish and Italian.
E gira tutt’intorno la stanza
mentre si danza, danza
e gira tutta la stanza
mentre si danza, danza
