Mediterranean wedding at Casa Santonja (Denia)

Ah… A wedding at Casa Santonja at sunset… Gorgeous!

This Mediterranean venue surrounded by green everywhere (even its facade!) where you can hear the birds singing, the frogs croaking and where guests dance and laugh while stars start to shine in the sky. Such an amazing place is where Olivia and Maxim’s wedding was held. We must be right while describing how special a wedding at Casa Santonja is considering they decided to make their family and friends travel more than 7.000kms to attend their special day! Yes, that’s right. Maxim is from Canadá and Olivia is from Paris, and their wedding was here, in Spain.

Since we only talked to them through e-mail we wanted to meet them some days before the wedding, since they were here for their holidays and to finish getting everything ready.
Even though everything they told us sounded great, what we liked the most about them was their complicity, the sympathy they give off and the desire they had to celebrate their love in an intimate way, with few people, and that everything flowed from the most natural way possible. The famous Canadian kindness represented in Maxim also did not go unnoticed. In case you don’t know Canadians are known, among other things, for how kind they are. Oli, who knows them much more because she lived there for a while – which is where she met Max – confirmed it to us. How nice they are!

And finally the expected day arrived. We started photographing Max while getting ready at a relative’s house in Jávea, but before that he and his friends swam in the pool, and even jumped from a beam of the house! Don’t worry, the groom arrived in one piece to the ceremony. Oli did not do such madness since she got ready at the venue, however it ended up equally beautiful. Cristina, from Merakiplan, with an enormous facility for languages, gave a ceremony that we are sure it was fantastic. We can’t confirm it because we do not speak French, although the guests were very concentrated, so we are sure it was great. What we are 100% confident that it was great was Oli’s and Max’s complicity, the way they see each other, gosh!

And although we have only begun to tell the day, the rest is photography and history. Love story of a summer afternoon, of a wedding at Casa Santonja, of a couple that met thousands of miles away, of a day surrounded by loving friend and family reunited with the Mediterranean stage, of flamenco music playing in the background, of a beautiful decoration, a magical farmhouse rustic wedding and an incredible atmosphere.
